What do you do when your bathroom is in need of a makeover, but your budget won’t quite stretch? You refresh!

This tired apartment bathroom & laundry was in need of a makeover, including new tapware, appliances and cabinetry, along with some colour and texture to bring a little life back.

We kept the base of white tiles (retro 90s, but making a bit of a comeback!), the bath and toilet and some of the existing chrome fittings.

New Caesarstone marble benchtops and splashback added a little luxury, and timber cabinetry added a much needed dose of warmth.

Functionality was greatly improved by adding in more storage, a combined washer/dryer from Fisher & Paykel (taking up much less space) and by the existing door and fitting a new barn door, the space felt twice as big as when we started.

The Dulux “Woods Creek” green on the door and behind the shelving really transformed the bathroom.

Our key budget hacks were:

 – Using Caesarstone as a splashback instead of Tiling
– Turning a Bunnings Warehouse door into a barndoor
– Using paint colour carefully to add a little luxe, without the price tag

So not a full overhaul, but a refresh on a budget to create a whole new look!
