EXTERIOR

Street frontage is super important – and we really took care to think through the details on this one.

This house started its life in Henderson, before being relocated onto this site in Grey Lynn. The exterior weatherboards of the original 1910 villa were worn, and portions were also damaged in the big move across town!

The focus of the exterior work was replacing, repairing, sanding and painting as well as work on the traditional features like the finials, fretwork and lacework to restore the traditional veranda front.

A neutral, warm tone was chosen for the weatherboards. This colour combo took a lot of  deliberation… and many Sunday drives around the neighbourhood knocking on doors when we spotted colours we liked! We always encourage people to do this – find a colour combo that you love on a house in your neighbour, and door knock.

We finished off the exterior look by freshening up the joinery and replacing the roof.
